His Excellency Mohsin Bin Khamis Al Balushi has had a distinguished career spanning both the government and private sectors. In government roles, he has held positions of Undersecretary of Tourism at the Ministry of Tourism, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry for Tourism, and Advisor to the Office of the Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He has also chaired several important boards and committees, including those for Oman Tourism College, Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, and the Public Authority for Social Security. Additionally, Mr Al Balushi has been a Director on the Board at Oman Air, served as Chair of the Audit Committee, and Vice Chair of the Executive committee. His contributions extend to strategic roles in restructuring Oman's aviation sector and as Commissioner General for world Expos in several countries.
In the private sector, Mr Al Balushi's leadership has been equally notable. He has served as the Chairman of the Omani Investment and Business group for the Indian Ocean Rim Association and as a Director of Oman's commercial offices in Johannesburg, South Africa, and Taipei, Taiwan. Moreover, he has held significant positions in various local and international companies, including Director of Information and Public Relations at the Oman Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Managing Director of Horizon for Accounting Audit and Financial Services. With a bachelor’s degree in Cooperative and Management Studies from Cairo, Egypt, and extensive experience complemented by fluency in Arabic and English, Mr. Al Balushi brings a wealth of expertise to both public and private endeavours.
